സ്നേഹത്തിന്റെ കാണാച്ചരടുകൾ…💖

the mystery of the flirtatious woman
A Prose Poem Photo by Derek Fahsbender via ReShot she doesn’t come wrapped in bows boldly standing at your doorstep–she creeps into your thoughts unannounced and ready to test your loyalty to the image of her you have tried hard to forget. she carries herself well–bust intact and perfectly pressed into a pushup bra, eyebrows threaded without a flaw. she blows her honeyed breath in my…

Michael vs. Gnome
If you’d ask anyone who is doesn’t belong to Gen Z what they wanted to be when they were old, there is a good chance they’d answer with scientist, teacher or musician. These days, there are so much more job opportunities: Social media manager, influencer or even… a gnome. The latter made me laugh when…

Poetry Break: Seashells by the Sea Shore
SEASHELLS BY THE SEASHORE I was just a little girl when my toes sunk into the sand Of the balmy, pretty beach deep in the Southland I fell in love with the ocean blue, and the big open sky The billowy clouds and thunderstorms that often blew on by But it was all the…

The Gradual Decline
Alex Blăjan – Unsplash The helicopter whirred, little Julian laughed again, and sadly, my mind became a blur. It was so disorienting. The responsibilities I shouldered previously were no more. They had to end, as my mind was more off than on now. Mostly I was quiet except when I “awoke” to the mists of my past, not knowing what was real anymore. I yearned for stability and…

I Could While Away the Hours…
Psychologically, the one who perceives something is not (to a large extent) separate from the perception; so, a man or a woman who is discussing something with someone who is standing in a bed of flowers is — in a very peculiar but real way — conversing with the flowers. (A favorite excerpt from a very special movie): .…

These days
I’ve seen fire, and I’ve seen rainI’ve seen sunny days that I thought would never endI’ve experienced heavy rainfall that felt like stormsThey’ve been windy days that filled the air with dustI’ve seen lonely times when I could not find a friendBut I always thought that I’d be grateful againThere were days filled with joy…

Mothering Sunday and Mother’s Day: a short history
Britain’s Mothering Sunday looks like the sister holiday to the U.S. Mother’s Day, but its roots (no surprise here) go back further and–I was going to say it’s a stranger story, but they’re both strange. Let’s start with Britain’s holiday. Mothering Sunday This started out as a church event that some date back to the…

Fragile flakes, or: Ashen death
A haibun I’m sorry. I am. As the father of a little girl, I strive to remain upbeat, but on most days I’m only managing this outwardly. ‘Cherry Blossoms,’ you suggest, Frank? Charred corpses and the white ashes of a nuclear holocaust. I see children’s faces melting off and their bones crumbling. Writing this doesn’t…

Sketchy Life #tankaprose
Once the fire was burning with anger. The flames rose so high that sparks were soaring in the sky. The Gods were so frightened that they ran to God Varuna and he arranged rain to calm the fire. From then on, the fire seemed to have something attractive in the water. He found her cool…

How I Benefited From Purchasing My Car Through Vroom
The overall process was lengthy but worth it “Solo” the Chevy Spark. Photo Collage Credit: Tremaine L. City of Lost Souls
City of Lost Souls The vanilla sky masked a sun desperate to break through Dreariness hung in the air like a wet blanket on hopes never to materialize Remains of life lived lay in derelict piles of rubble Dreams and memories scattered Never to be retrieved The city, a heart without a beat Ghosts of…

Words …
President Biden gave a speech yesterday in Warsaw, Poland, before heading home. The speech has been hailed by many, comparing it to two of what are considered the greatest speeches of the Cold War by U.S. Presidents John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan. While I have not listened to the speech, I have read the…

Emerge
Embrace all possibilities, the future holds no guarantees.Ignore all probabilities, adjusting sensibilities. Embrace all possibilities, whats meant to be, will always be.A win or loss holds the same keythat leads to fated destiny. Embrace all possibilities, draw strength from letting hopes fly free.Stop doubting capabilities, have faith in self abilities. Embrace all possibilities,so open paths are clear to see.Illuminating brilliantly,as…
